Hi there, and welcome to my blog. If your visiting this page, you no doubt want to get a feel for who I am and what this blog is all about. I shall oblige, but first and foremost, if you want to contact me for any reason, shoot me an email at jim@frugaljim.com.

About me…

I’m a mid twenties software engineer working in Central Florida for a pretty big company. I recently graduated with an MBA from the University of Central Florida, after which I thought I would move on to bigger and better things. Of course, life doesn’t always play out as we picture it in our minds, and I haven’t really done any “moving on”. I’ve recently made some pretty big life changes such as getting married and buying a house (within a month of each other – something I wouldn’t recommend), so I’m kind of starting over. I’m really into reading personal finance blogs, and I thought “why not give it a try myself”.

About the blog…

Originally, the purpose of this blog was to track the change our household was making. The wife was planning on quitting her job and going back to school full time. While this was an amazing opportunity, our income would have dropped by half, so it was only logical that our spending would do the same. I was hoping by writing about the cost saving methods we were using, anyone who happened to stumble on this website would benefit.

Well, again, everything doesn’t always go as planned. The wife decided she would rather continue down the path she has already started instead of starting completely from scratch, with a long, long (did I mention long?) road ahead.

Granted, I was pretty happy about the decision she made. I joked with my friends that my income just “doubled”. I actually enjoyed posting articles on this topic, and didn’t want the site to waste away on the fringes of the web, so I decided to keep on posting. Actually, I have started to change the topic a bit. In addition to money saving advice, I hope to share what I’m doing with the money I actually save. I guess it’s kind of a personal finance blog with a hint of stock portfolio tracking. Exciting!!! I know!

Thanks for visiting!
