When I first bought my truck, it cost around $40 to fill up. While this is still a substantial amount of money, it’s nothing like what I saw yesterday after a fill up…
That’s correct. I spent almost $72 to fill up my truck.
This tank of gas will last approximately 6 working days, both to and from work. If I drive at all on the weekends, I will have to fill up every week. This means I spend about $288 per month on gas, or $3,456 per year.
So you may ask, why are you complaining about gas prices? You always bitch about other people complaining about inflation…
The main reason I’m writing this post is to show that you can take action on these things rather than just whine. Starting tomorrow I’ll be joining in a car-pool with some co-workers. Other than Mondays, I’ll be splitting the driving between myself and two other guys. This means that I’ll be driving approximately 2 less days per week. A 40% savings or almost $1,400 per year!!!
I realize this may not be an option for some, but it can’t hurt to look around and find a co-worker who could help ease the pain of rising gas prices.
